High frequency inductors are mainly used in coupling, resonance, and choke; The main uses of power inductors include changing voltage and choke current; And general circuits use inductors to provide a wide range and size of inductors, which are used for ordinary analog circuits such as sound and video, resonant circuits, etc.

According to different process structures, inductors can be divided into plug-in inductors and chip inductors. Chip inductors have the advantages of small size, light weight, high reliability, and easy installation, and have gradually replaced plug-in inductors as the mainstream. Chip inductors can also be divided into four categories: wound type, laminated type, thin film type, and braided type. Among them, winding type and laminated type are the most common. A modified version of the integrated inductor has been developed for winding type, which solves the problems of size standardization and coil leakage of traditional winding type. It has a smaller volume, larger current, and more stable temperature rise current, and its market share is rapidly increasing.

According to different materials, inductors can be divided into ceramic core inductors, ferrite inductors, and metal soft magnetic powder core inductors. Ferrite has the advantage of low loss, but can tolerate low saturation current and poor temperature stability, making it suitable for high-frequency and low-power working environments. The metal soft magnetic powder core is made of a mixture of ferromagnetic powder particles and insulating medium, which has high resistivity, low loss, and can withstand higher saturation current, making it suitable for relatively high-frequency and high-power working environments.
